CITI-SENSE 'Development of sensor-based Citizens

Observatory Community for improving quality of life in cities'

What is the CITI-SENSE project?

The Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM), is one of several International partners involved in 'CITI-SENSE: Development of sensor-based citizens observatory community for improving quality of life in cities'.

This project will develop “citizens’ observatories” to empower citizens to contribute to and participate in environmental governance, to enable them to support and influence community and societal priorities and associated decision making.

CITI-SENSE will develop, test, demonstrate and validate a community-based environmental monitoring and information system using innovative and novel Earth Observation applications.

Edinburgh CITI-SENSE initiatives

The IOM is running four initiatives which require citizens and other stakeholders participation and engagement in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
